The main evidence for syndepositional deformation is in the strata: thick accumulations in synclines that flatten as the fold changes, pinchouts and internal truncations of folds, slumping, and faults covered by succeeding beds. The Mishash beds are often intensely folded while the limestones underneath show much less folding and more brittle fracturing. So much to learn about all this for me!]]></description>

I might be wrong, but the same was once interpreted for the Mule Canyon folds, but I&#039;m pretty sure that model has since been dropped in favor of a tectonic source.]]></description>
